Weston's 2026 parade sets off from the High Street at 10.30am on 8 November, silence at 11am in Grove Park. Times for Portishead, Nailsea and Clevedon too.
Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026, and North Somerset’s four towns each hold a parade. Weston-super-Mare’s sets off from the High Street at 10.30am for the War Memorial in Grove Park, Portishead’s is on its own High Street, Nailsea’s steps off at 10.20am, and Clevedon’s is at 2.30pm. Weston, Nailsea and Clevedon have published their 2026 times; Portishead is shown with its branch’s standing timings.
Updated 2 October: Weston-super-Mare Town Council posted its 2026 notice on 30 September. This year the parade starts from the High Street, not the Italian Gardens, from 10.30am. Clevedon Town Council’s calendar lists its parade at 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
The quick answer
- Weston-super-Mare: parade from the High Street from 10.30am to Grove Park, silence at 11am at the War Memorial (confirmed for 2026).
- Portishead: Act of Remembrance at Stoke Road and the High Street, silence at 11am, service at St Peter’s Church at 11.30am. The High Street is closed 9.45am to 12.15pm.
- Nailsea: parade 10.20am (confirmed). Clevedon: parade 2.30pm to 3.30pm (confirmed); in 2025 it went from Salthouse Fields to St Andrew’s Church.
Weston-super-Mare: Grove Park
Weston-super-Mare Town Council has published its 2026 arrangements. It says to join it on Sunday 8 November from 10.30am at Weston High Street, where a parade of cadets, military personnel past and present, scouts and guides will set off accompanied by a band. A service with hymns, wreath laying and the National Anthem follows at the War Memorial in Grove Park, and two minutes’ silence is observed at 11am (Weston-super-Mare Town Council).
That is a change of start point. In 2024 the parade assembled in the Italian Gardens and moved off at 10.25am, with the Mayor and dignitaries processing from the council’s Waterloo Street offices (Weston-super-Mare Town Council, 2024). The council’s 2026 notice does not give a route from the High Street to Grove Park.
A Field of Remembrance is set up to the right of the War Memorial, where people can leave tributes. The council asks that this is not done during the service. It says the full order of service will be available to download from its page “shortly”; in past years it has been put online to read on a phone.
Portishead: High Street
The Portishead branch of the Royal British Legion publishes its parade timings (Royal British Legion, Portishead):
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 9.45am | Road closures start |
| 10.15am | Parade assembles on Stoke Road and the High Street |
| 10.45am | Act of Remembrance at the Stoke Road and High Street junction, with the names of those who died in the two world wars read out |
| 11am | Two minutes' silence |
| 11.05am | Parade marches to the church via the High Street |
| 11.30am | Remembrance service in St Peter's Church |
| 12.15pm | Roads reopen |
The branch estimates 5,000 people line the High Street. The closures cover the High Street between Church Road South and Combe Road, Stoke Road and Church Road South, with diversions via St Peter’s Road, Slade Road and Combe Avenue. Any car not moved by 9.45am cannot leave until 12.15pm. The branch says its timings may change at short notice.
Nailsea
Nailsea Town Council’s events list gives the Nailsea Remembrance Sunday Parade on 8 November 2026 at 10.20am (Nailsea Town Council events). The route and the service venue have not yet been published there.
Clevedon: an afternoon parade
Clevedon Town Council’s events calendar lists the Remembrance Parade on Sunday 8 November 2026, 2.30pm to 3.30pm (Clevedon Town Council). The calendar entry gives no route. In 2025, with the Royal British Legion, Clevedon Town Council said the procession would leave Salthouse Fields at 2.30pm for St Andrew’s Church, with the Service of Remembrance at 3pm and the parade back at the Salthouse Fields car park at about 3.45pm. Air Cadets, Army Cadets, Scouts and Guides march with veterans and councillors, under rolling road closures (Clevedon Town Council, 2025).
On Armistice Day in 2025, the council also held a short service at 11am at the Queen’s Square War Memorial. Armistice Day 2026 is Wednesday 11 November.
Getting there
